Model Based Design

At Applied Informatics we specialise in creating rigorous models that yield consistent, meaningful and reusable artefacts, and from which both documentation and software artefacts can be generated.  This approach is central to Striking the Right Balance of defining the Information Systems Architecture whilst delivering business value to the client.

We aim to ensure that models are always created for clearly defined purposes that meet stakeholders' needs.  These may include:

  • gaining a shared understanding of the concepts and relationships relevant to the organisation;
  • specifying functional and data requirements independently of technology-related concerns; and
  • provision of high level or detailed solution designs.

Particular importance is placed on ensuring that models are both accurate and precise and that the information is presented in a manner that provides maximum benefit to the target audience.
